THEME FOCUS PERIODS
POLISHING OFF EACH AREA, WHILE LIVING LIFE
NOT TOO BUSY
People nowadays are "busy", seemingly too busy to do the most important things in life: to formulate and learn and master what is needed to live a good life - and, then, a great life!
The "misconcept" here is that we are too busy - which is not true. We are not too busy to waste our time, to spend alot of time getting relief from the anxiety or problems that we created needlessly.
GATHER TOGETHER THE SCATTERED TIME AND EFFORTS
The idea of using theme focus periods to create a whole new life "a good piece at a time" is expected to gather one's scattered attention time, one's sporadic reading of articles or books for improvement, and to apply them to making true progress in something of true benefit. (Note that one MUST cause a result that shows up in your life and is not just "learning".)
DO THIS...
Pick at least 3 of the options suggested below, put them in the order you will do them - and then go harvest the benefit and improve the quality of your life(!).
It is highly doable to reconstruct your days to be, perhaps 22 or 23 hour days for regular living and doing the necessities of life, so that we can devote an hour or two a day to our focus theme - or pull out a 1/2 or full day on Saturday. (See
To be effective, they must be done in writing with action implementation steps at least decided and scheduled if not already done inthe theme focus period. In other words, they must have an effect - a result that shows up in the real world.
Of course, you may adjust the number of hours and/or add on a large extension if you find the initial work to be rewarding and beneficial.
Most people likely will spend about a month on each theme from start to finish - and be able to have about 12 major completed theme improvements in their life in a year. Note that, for such focus periods, it is usually better not to have them be more than 30 hours in total (or broken into separate pieces).
SUGGESTIONS AND CHOICES
Here are some suggestions for you to pick from, with guestimated amount of time needed to adequately focus and get a result of sufficient substance: (note that any of The Paths or Programs or areas of interest can be used for theme focuses; in an area of interest without a yet specified program, start at the main page for the topic and follow the links or use the contents/links page to follow the sequences )
Possible starter ("QuikStart")
Implement "the book": Life Value Productivity (link to it from Books page), 20-30 hours (one reader, in two days, read it 3 times and completely revamped his activities, values, and schedule, with completed excel sheets; then two days later emailed me saying he had the most productive day of his entire life.
Design a life:
Do a LifePlan, 30 hours (perhaps doing the medium length version first, then tickling up another level of planning for later) (Some will choose the not-free My Lifebook.)
Or a "what you want in life" list, with thoughts and ideas, 4 hours (a "starter"
exercise).
At the core of life:
- Life improvements plan (see also the quick life improvements path listed above), 30 hours - This is a free-or-all: all you can think of that will make life better. Possible tool to use: Life Improvement Journal. The process may also include Brainstorming.
- Discover, plan, and implement health strategies, 30 hours
