THE EFFECTIVE PERSON
WHERE ARE YOU ON THE SCALE?
You can glance at this page or you can go directly to the written document that has much more in it: The Effective Person. See, especially, the test to see how effective you are.

Why is it important to be effective?
You think well of yourself, you are confident, you don't worry or fear anything intangible.
And... you get alot more effects (results) in life that you want - your life is full of what you value most!
Otherwise you get excuses, feeling bad about yourself, worry (because dependent on the universes, others, etc. to approve of you and/or take care of you)...
HOW DO I BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE?
Like the statue of David, you chip away everything that is not "effective". By effective, we don't mean partially effective or lamely effective. We mean getting the highest value results (effects). So, besides have a vision of what "David" (the highly effective person) looks like and filling up that image with actual effective practices and ways of being, you list everything that is not highly effective that you do - and you eliminate it (see the Worksheet in the document The Effective Person).
(I use the term "Relevance" to determine what I should or should not do in life. Relevance refers to value to me. If something has no value to me, it is irrelevant, so why would I do it? And, no, "for diversion" or "relief" is not a good answer, for you can do "calming" and "centering" more effectively in life. It is essential that you understand The Law Of Relevancy. Read and understand also Run Your Life On "High Relevancy".)
THERE IS NO "SACRIFICE" IN BEING EFFECTIVE
One really important point to make is that being effective does not require one to repress feelings nor to sacrifice unreasonably. To the contrary, the effective person is very mindful and aware of emotions and is also acutely interested in making sure that he/she feels good physically and emotionally.
The highly effective person does not incur "mental suffering".
In fact, the highly effective person does not fit the stereotype of a person producing alot of units of something (widgets, knowledge, money, etc.) to the exclusion of life's most important pieces.
Indeed, the "effects" that the effective person is seeking to cause are those very things that are the most important (impactful) in one's emotional life and in "meaning".
The ultimate effect that the effective person seeks (and the criterion for all he does) is unconditional, deep, enduring happiness, including the memories of having created significant and meaningful experiences!
