HOW TO SET UP YOUR PLANNING SYSTEM

(In process, but published so I could find it for addition later.  If you want this to be completed earlier, contact me.)

Why bother?  Planning is the most important time saver and value creator of all you can do.  You set it up not to blow time on something that doesn't mean much and you focus on those items that have the greatest value/payoff for you.

SET UP YOUR SYSTEMS

Notebooks and supplies

Go out and buy all these right now, use nice ones!

Long term plan  notebook (2 in) - To set the plan for what you want out of life and how to get it.
Multiyear plan notebook (2 in)   ) - Some people may prefer to keep this as a section of the long term.  I recommend separately
One year plan notebook (1 in) - Past plans can be kept in the same notebook or moved to a file
Current planning notebook (1 in), containing:
          Quarterly
          Monthly
          Weekly
Daily (Also computerized calendar at least; accumulated to do's non-current; current (and "next") to
             do's
Buy a clipboard that has a flat (1/4" or so) clip on it, so it doesn't stick up and use space.

Software

For now, use Google Calendar (free, just sign up) and GQueues (minor costs).
