HOW TO SOLVE ANY SOLVABLE PROBLEM
ANYONE CAN DO IT, WITH THE RIGHT PROCESS

Right now this is a placeholder so that I can use the search engine to find it and work on it when appropriate.  Meanwhile, use the links in the sidebar.

Problem:  A gap between the result we want and the result we have

Right process:  A series of easily doable, discrete steps laid out in a followable sequence that leads to the "right" result (the one we want!).

The key idea here:  With the right steps laid out in the right sequence we can solve any problem, or arrive at the desired result.

The source of the right process:  Usually it is simply about finding and "copying" a process that has worked in real life through a normal human being.  In other words, it is a "proven to work" process!!!!   It is true that occasionally we cannot find such a process already formulated and available, in which case we must "deduce" the steps.  (However, most of the steps are not hard to deduce as they fit into an overall sequence with some sub-sequences, which are "causal chains" as discussed in The Law Of Cause And Effect.)

Use this processs: The Problem-Solving Process and the forms it suggests.

Devices: Many devices, as laid out on this site, are used to assist you, such as brainstorming.

Helpers:  When you're stopped, seek another's mind/help, especially experts.

WHAT IS MOST WANTED...

While we want to have a process for solving all types of problems in all arenas of interest, what is most important to us human beings is to solve personal problems, some of personal consequence and some of just plain unpleasant feelings - especially ongoing feelings generated by a way of thinking that is not based on rational beliefs.  If one operated strictly on rational beliefs (after learning the what and the how of it), then one would only have posItive emotions, sprinkled with a few "solve a physical threat" interludes that would pass but have no ongoing negative valence ("feel bad") to them.

As most problems of a human being are anticipatable, I have written up solutions for virtually every major problem and also addressed false beliefs, providing new beliefs.
To find those use the search engine, entering the desciption of the belief and/or emotion.

IT'S VIRTUALLY ALWAYS QUITE STRAIGHT FORWARD

When I speak of "right process", I am not speaking of a "macro", or overall, idea or concept.  I am speaking of easily doable steps that are in an order (sequence) that works, ultimately creating an end-resut that we were seeking to attain.  Use the processes:  Problem Solving Process or Beliefs Process or Psychological Problem Solving Process

"BEFORE" DOES NOT DETERMINE THE FUTURE

Many people have given up on both change and problem solving based on the nonsense belief that since they have succeeded before therefore they will not succeed.  It is as if they have a permanent condition that disables them.

But, no, it is not a condition and not IQ or feeble brain.  It is just that they have not yet learned what will work, so they do not have a workable process that will get them the results they want.

But you do have to spend some effort investing in learning and in settling out what process you will use.  And you have to not, this time, stop short of getting to the point of sufficient competency.

In most cases, you can simply, with a little bit of discussion, use a pre-determined checklist or a guiding form where you simply fill in the blanks and voila! you have a good well-thought out decision on what to do to no longer have the problem.

There is also a format for dealing with problems where there is no set way of proceeding - because, it turns out, that there is a way to proceed in virtually any seemingly vague, complex problem that seems formidable.

People who succeed figure out how to do even the hardest problem solving - and they always do it by having gone back and forth to devise a way to approach eve

Use the principles:

Everything occurs in sequential steps leading to the end result

Stop the initial cause and you stop the rest of the chain!

In the first principle, things get really easy if we simply draw a picture of what we think the order of occurrences are of the steps that logically lead to the end result - and then we look for where things went wrong in the chain.  Then we solve the earliest cause if we can.  If we simply solve the symptoms, we will keep on getting the same problem.  So we look for the earliest point in the sequence chain that needs to be fixed, then see if it is enough.  If it isn't, find the next thing after that which has to be fixed and fix it.
You simply find someone or some place that particular step has been done right and/or corrrected.

ONE APPROACHES A PROBLEM THIS WAY

Remember, a problem is simply a gap between:

What is it you want

Where you are right now relative to what you want

Using these as the starting point and the ending point, draw the sequence of how things occur (and/or occurred):  (these are "steps" that lead to the next step and then the next and finally to the result).

1 --->  2 ---> 3 --> 4--> Result

Identify where things didn't work in the process, each step's not working....what is wrong within each step (orsystem) along the way

To solve a problem, no matter how big, one must step back far enough to see the whole process (at least up to where it is needed) from the beginning (or earliest step of relevance) all the way to the result.  The two questions we ask initially are:

What step must have preceded this step?

What steps are after this, including all the steps to the end result?

No process should be left without going to the end result point, for we must project into the future what the end consequences would be of this process.

For instance, the Iraq war after victory included a lot of steps and an end result that was not pretty.

People going for making alot of money fail to see that that is not the end point of the process.  When they make it the end all and the be all of all existence but fail to look further down the process, they end up failing to see the relationships and happiness consequences.

The WHOLE PROCESS (chain) must be considered in problem solving, or we'll end up with other problems and/or will exacerbate the current problem.

Identify solutions

Learn how the thing works and then what will work and then how to work those.

   Choose which to do
If earliest step (or earlier steps) stop the chain, not necessary to fix other steps or
             systems.
Repair systems so they work better

Which is critical to getting the results (one or more).  Identify earliest cause that might break the whole chain....

If "stuck", lack sufficient knowledge or definition of problem, get help, use another form... read about it...find someone or example of how it has been solved to workability....

Wrong beliefs....

The secret weapon that works - duh!

Don't reinvent the already invented process!  It is much better to "tweak" if you must something that has already been done - better for both quality and ease.

Forms To Use For Problem-Solving, Decision-Making

Examples of applying this process

For now, use the search engine, as it will come up with solutions and examples if you but enter a general description of the problem, issue, or emotion.

Using "Questions" To Solve A Dilemma

You might want to use the questions provided in The Life Improvment Journal!

Notes for me to add:

Ask questions, essentially the first part of the process and then also a part in a later part of the process:

who, what, where, when, why, how
